"I'm guessing so, yeah. But you don't have to pay for those. Ain't your problem."
"It was nothing, really." A pause as he realizes that sort of explanation wouldn't be enough. "The recent church bake sale sold more than anticipated and so I had a little bit extra. If it helps you to feel any better, you can pay me back later."
Oh how easily the lies spawned these days. "Anyway I do feel partly responsible. Misdial or not, I'm still here to help."
